Destination Data [Auckland] – Free Workshop covering varying essential data skills

Are you curious about what it means to work in a “data” field. Wonder what sort of things you could be doing, if it’s for you?
Are you in a data field currently, and are looking to expand your skills further?
Or do you just want to meet more like minded individuals in your field and network?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the event for you!
This is a free event from She Loves Data – an organisation focused on encouraging and enabling women into fields that are typically male dominated. By providing the opportunity to network and empower one another, we strive to give women the confidence to go after their dream of working with data.
This workshop will includes lectures, hands on demonstrations and a panel at the end. (This means downloading required data sets /programs beforehand)
The agenda will include;
Soft skills and time saving functions for everyday
Power BI Desktop
and SAP architecture for data processing and analytics with real world case studies.
Snacks and lunch will be provided (catered by Eat My Lunch thanks to Xero).

Barry Hodges [SAP]
Barry is a Data Platform Architect working in SAP’s Asia Pacific Platform and Technologies Centre of Excellence. Barry has over 25 years of experience working with data, principally in the data management area as a database administrator and team manager at one of New Zealand’s largest government departments. Barry also has worked as a sales technical consultant for leading data management software vendors SAP and Oracle. In his current role at SAP as a Data Platform Architect, he helps customers turn data complexity into intelligence via co-developed enterprise wide data strategies.
Michele Trindade [SAP BW HANA Consultant]
Michele Trindade is a SAP Business Intelligence Consultant. She has more than 15 years of practical and teaching experience in enterprise information management. She has worked on multiple projects utilising applied analytics to solve business problems across different industries and countries including Brazil, Germany and New Zealand.
Barbara Daxenberger [Tonkin & Taylor]
Barbara Daxenberger is an HR Analyst and passionate about combining data analytics methods with applied psychology to support data driven decisions and create efficiencies. She holds a BSc in Mathematics and a MA in Human Resource Management. She has several years of working experience in different industries and cultures.
Maiera Mazelev [FSNI]
Has been working with data for the past 3.5 years as a Article Master Data Specialist, Article Master Data Analyst, and, currently, Buyer at Foodstuffs North Island. Maiera enjoys finding ways to make life easier using data to make tasks easier and faster. Her passion for efficiency and communication have helped her to easily pick up new systems and work effectively with large amounts of data. She is very passionate about getting women together to support one another in changing careers, trying something new, or simply just coming to meet other likeminded individuals.

What should I bring to the event?
To participate in the hands on bits, please bring full charged laptops. To save time, please download data sets and programmes ahead of time (i.e. Power BI Desktop). Also please register at this link to be able to use the site during the hands-on session.
There will be charging stations, but not at every seat.
Free high speed wifi available.
