Introduction to Data Analytics workshop is designed as an introduction into the logical thinking behind data analytics and business intelligence. It aims to provide a good overview of data analytics infrastructure and best practices through a hands-on case study. Participants will get to build their own analytics solution on real-world data with real business problems. All this with great guidance and support by experienced data analytics professionals.
This course aspires to light a spark of curiosity that could end up leading to a career with endless opportunities, where the sky is the limit. Literally.
- The event is for women only.
- This workshop covers the foundations of data analytics and is designed for beginners in the data field. There are no formal prerequisites to taking this course, but please check the content before registering to make sure that it meets your requirements. No prior knowledge of analytics or programming skills is needed, we’ll start with the foundations.
- You only need to bring your own laptop. Don’t forget the charger, it’s going to be a long day!
Rebecca Sebastian–Topic: building resilience throughout your career.
Rebecca’s career has specialized in leadership, sales, change management and coaching. She began her career at Telstra Corporation Ltd, where she stayed for 13 years in a range of sales and leadership roles. She then moved to Singtel Optus as Sales Manager New Business then Director of Mid Market Sales.
Rebecca spent six years with Microsoft in various sales and channel roles with her most recent role leading the Enterprise Channel group, tasked with assisting partners to accelerate connections with Microsoft resources and end clients.
Rebecca has a passionate focus around workplace flexibility and employee wellbeing, seeking out organisations that have this at the heart of their culture. This has allowed Rebecca to both complete an Executive MBA whilst having a young child and continue her corporate career with three young boys. She is a co-founder at Juggle Strategies Pty Ltd, which aims to help corporate organisations in Australia implement flexible working initiatives through strong leadership rather than policy and a consultant with Springfox, helping build resilient individuals and organisations.
You will often find Adi writing code, investigating software engineering problems, reading, talking, and working with tech. She believes in sharing knowledge and learning from others. She was managing “she codes;” branches, a community of women established with the goal of reaching 50% women software developers in the Israeli high-tech scene in the next decade. She also helped found FlipCon to support the functional programming community. Adi is active in data analytics, big data, security, and JVM-based languages communities, including Java, Scala, and Kotlin, and has years of experience working with high scale data and machine learning.
