Kicking off the launch of our brand-new SLD Chapter Coalition, the U.K & Ireland Chapter invites you to join us at our online SLD Panel Event, taking place on 21st March, 6-7 pm (GMT).
In the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, we will be hosting some inspirational speakers to share their unique experiences of ‘Breaking the Bias’ in their respective industries.

Sophie Smith - Interim Head of Data Technology Analytics - JDX Consulting
Interim Head of Data & Technology Analytics at JDX Consulting
Sophie has 12 years of experience working in Financial Services and is currently heading the Data and Technology Consulting department at JDX. She has been heavily involved with initiatives aiming to support women in the industry throughout her career, including participation in several high-profile mentoring schemes and as a participant in the ‘WiLD (Women in Listed Derivatives)’ network whilst working at TPICAP.
Her roles have involved overseeing technology change portfolios for global businesses including FX, Clearing and Emerging Markets and she has also represented LCH on the development of LSEG’s Post-trade Technology Strategy. As an avid Tennis fan, Sophie has developed data analysis techniques as a hobby to hone her predictions for The Tennis Podcast and has even won awards! Driving Women’s hiring initiatives at her previous companies, Sophie has led panel discussions about addressing the gender pay gap and gender career diversion issues. She is keen to help more women get into and thrive within the Data industry and is passionate about using data in meaningful ways to provide informative insight.

Jeff Courtney is COO at Wiserfunding, a fintech disrupting the SME Credit Risk space. In previous roles he has helped fintech design, build and scale new products and propositions. Prior to this, Jeff has 15+ years of experience in Financial Services across a variety of senior Risk, Front Office, and COO roles.

Laura is Head of Data Science Search and Selection and has been recruiting and consulting in this area for 10 years. Laura brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise along with an immense global network. She works with an impressive portfolio of the most interesting and sophisticated clients globally, connecting them with the most high-caliber talent in the world.
Laura is also a recognized thought leader, Co-Organiser of the Irish chapter of Women in AI, a member of the Advisory Council of the Analytics Institute of Ireland and regularly speaks at events. She also provides an expert consultation service to her global client base and government bodies and is very active within the global start-up ecosystem.

Kieran has a mathematics and statistics academic background and excels in building and growing data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capability, including specialist teams and technology solutions. Kieran is a Thought Leader in the field of analytics and has traveled the world, working with clients across all industries and speaking at technology, analytics, and AI conferences. Kieran’s particular expertise lies in designing and delivering data-powered solutions that maximize the client value from investments in data and analytics technology, with particular domain expertise in Financial Services and Public Services.

A. Yes! Participation is free, but slots are limited, so please register early!

Q. I’m based outside of Ireland. Can I still join?
A. Absolutely! You can join from any part of the world.

Q. Is it only for women?
A. Just like our regular She Loves Data #MeetUp events, this online webinar is open to all professional men and women. #HeLovesData too!

Q. What if something comes up and I need to retract my registration?
A. Please be considerate and let us know if you won’t be able to attend the online meetup a day in advance, so we can offer your place to somebody else.
