Whether you are a seasoned professional in data science, a freelancer, hoping to pivot your career path, or just curious about data, join us for a discussion that levels the playing field, welcomes women of diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, and launches our brand new chapter: She Loves Data for the MENA region.

This inaugural event features accomplished female leaders from diverse backgrounds and industries who will share the impact of data on their personal and professional lives as well as insights that are helpful for anyone hoping to develop their expertise in the field.

In this interactive event, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions directly and become part of the She Loves Data global community.

Speakers

Dina Mohammad-Laity
Director of Product Analytics, Talabat
Dina is the Director of Product Analytics at Talabat, the largest online food ordering platform in the Middle East. She has an MSc in Applied Statistics from Birkbeck College, University of London, and years of experience across a range of industries from publishing to real estate, focusing on impactful business applications of data science and engineering.

 

Leena Zahir
Senior Education Specialist, Education Above All’s Innovation Development Directorate
Leena Zahir

Leena Zahir is a Senior Education Specialist at Education Above All’s Innovation Development Directorate. She has a Master of Education degree in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a background in social science and education research. She is passionate about developing and evaluating educational programs that target learners in challenging contexts, and utilizing statistics and data to extract meaningful insights on the field.

 

Jana Marlé Zizkova

Co-Founder & CEO, Meiro and SheLovesData

An avid data and diversity advocate, Jana is Co-founder and CEO at Meiro, a Customer Data Platform company. Jana has 20+ years of experience in business and digital intelligence, data warehousing and data mining, marketing, risk and fraud management. She holds degrees in Computer Science and Systems Architecture from universities in Sweden and the USA. Jana also headed country operations at Estee Lauder, Sybase, SAS and Socialbakers. A Czech native and Swedish citizen, Jana has been living in Singapore since 2011. In 2015 she started the data consultancy DataDriven Co, and thereafter, the MarTech start-up Meiro. In 2016, Jana co-founded the non-profit movement She Loves Data. Since then over 7,000 women have attended 100+ free data & tech workshops in Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Nigeria, and the USA. She Loves Data was awarded “Best Diversity Initiative 2019” by Women in IT Asia. From 2003-2006 Jana circumnavigated the world on a 38-foot sailboat.

Tala Hammash

Assistant Director, Admissions Events, New York University of Abu Dhabi

A lifelong learner, an advocate for human development in the MENA region, and a professional in fields of education, career development, and data, Tala is helping launch the newest SLD chapter: SLD MENA in hopes of further strengthening the data science landscape regionally. A champion of social impact and a community builder by nature, she is committed to curating opportunities that help communities and individuals alike fulfill their potential. She is most interested in the intersection between technology and social impact. Her Palestinian origins and background in culture, politics, and education from Georgetown University have shaped her global worldview; she has moved frequently and immersed herself in a wide variety of cultural contexts and communities. She believes that most of the learning, development, fun, and human connection lie in the area between black and white of how we see the world. In her free time, she plays basketball, cooks, and fervently advocates for the use of the Oxford comma.

A. Yes! Participation is free, but slots are limited, so please register early!

Q. I’m based outside of MENA region. Can I still join?
A. Absolutely! This is a Global event. You can join from any part of the world.

Q. Is it only for women?
A. Just like our regular She Loves Data #MeetUp events, this online webinar is open to all professional men and women. #HeLovesData too!

Q. Is this an interactive discussion or just a ‘listen-in’ webinar?
A. Definitely interactive! Your thoughts, feedback and questions are most welcome and will be entertained during the polling and live Q&A portions at the end of the discussion.

Q. What if something comes up and I need to retract my registration?
A. Please be considerate and let us know if you won’t be able to attend the online meetup a day in advance, so we can offer your place to somebody else.
